Membership Benefits

Members are listed as safe spaces & members on the Reading Pride Celebration site, along with the alliances site. Members are also celebrated and highlighted through new member spotlights on social media.

Members Businesses join our network of business committed to servicing the community free of discrimination. Members show their support for our LGBTQ+ community. Members are encouraged to attend, and host monthly networking events. These events invite member businesses, and LGBTQ community members and allies, highlighting the services of each business host.

Member businesses are encouraged to join our mentorship program, where new business owners seeking to learn are partnered with existing business owners with experience to share. Learning = growth. Veteran business owners help to grow their business and increase their influence in the business community, by serving as mentors to newer businesses. These mentorships provide valuable resources in increasing LGBTQ+ entrepreneurial opportunities, but also can foster long lasting partnerships and friendships.

Member businesses will have access to virtual training videos launched throughout the year. These trainings will be geared to helping business owners and employees maintain diverse and inclusive spaces.

Through our directory listing, networking events, and Pride festival, member businesses will have the opportunity to reach a broader range of customers. Members will also be spotlighted as new members on the alliance's FB Page as they join. Member businesses who have expressed interest hosting a mixer will be selected monthly to do so. The mixers will be promoted by the Alliance, Reading Pride Celebration, and the hosting business. These mixers will help build the brand and increase the visibility of the business. Attendees will be able to learn about each host, while patronizing their business and find opportunities to partner with other member businesses. Members are further encouraged to participate as sponsors of Reading Pride Celebration events, furthering visibility efforts.

Member businesses can reach potential employees and customers through our member directory, job board and by participating in networking events. Members can also achieve business growth by taking advantage of alliance programming, training and the forged friendships among members.

Alliance members will be the first to be informed of Alliance events. Alliance members will also be kept up to date and encouraged to participate in Reading Pride Events. Members support our advocacy initiatives serving as the voice of LGBTQ+ & allied business community by publicly displaying member decals & participating in discussions. Members invest in themselves & employees with access to participate on committees within the Reading Pride and Alliance Network.

Member businesses publicly show their support for the LGBTQ+ community through display of membership decal and participating in diversity training. Member businesses are also encouraged to participate in Reading Pride events, and receive early access to sponsorship and vendor opportunities.

The alliance will work with members, community leaders, and member organizations to offer each other discounts on goods and services. Members will also receive a 25% discount on vendor opportunities at the Reading Pride Festival, along with a 25% discount code on admission for employees.
